Lockdown

Action not Words

More Johnsonians. He has promised to donate “most of Britain’s surplus vaccinations.” It means nothing. He is creating another tabloid headline: “force for good in the world.” The Chinese roll out is way ahead with Turkey one grateful recipient.

We have extra vaccines because he over-ordered in case some failed their trials. If Johnson’s intentions were humanitarian he would not have cut overseas aid, he would have provided adequate PPE fast (930 careworkers have died to date but that’s OK because the “government are monitoring air borne transmission”) and he would instantly enact the request from Kenya for Britain to “share the recipes and technology” of vaccine-making so that developing countries could run their own programmes.

But therein lies no profit.
