Dear Sir Keir Starmer,
In its search for the key to winning the next election, the Labour Party is missing the bigger picture. People are hungry. People are unemployed. People are facing rent arrears. The Labour Party is no longer the party of the people. When the electorate ask what Labour did in the pandemic, the answer will be, “Agree with Boris Johnson.”
Elections in the viral age are won on soundbites and false promises. The job of the Labour Party is to oppose the unashamed “greed and capitalism” (Johnson) of the Conservative elite make and society a fairer place now. That way, Labour can build up voters’ trust and confidence before its election campaign in three years’ time.
